"Hello, I am Elena Oshima.
I tell my visual stories through minimalistic, nature-inspired abstract compositions.
As in today’s world we live with a never-ending flow of visual information putting all sorts of demands to the viewer, I truly believe that the nature is the best source of imagery that doesn’t require anything from the one who observes it. And that is a real visual holiday to our eyes and the mind. While we calmly experience nature through its shapes, forms, colors, sounds, textures, we get a chance to bring ourselves to a balanced and harmonious relationship with both – inner and outer world.
In my artworks I visualize nature with circles, moving lines, soft shapes and light compositions and strive to evoke that calm, non-demanding experience of imagery and hopefully to bring some peacefulness to the observer.
