After the plant blooms, the yellow flower develops into a tall, gourd-like plant that resembles a giant cucumber or zucchini. These are then harvested and dried. Then they are soaked in water, which loosens the skin and can be easily removed. The 'naked' loofah is then further dried in the sun. A completely natural process.
