Love for things done well, attention to the relationship between beauty and functionality of the object, search for an innovative and original design: this is perceived in cooking with a pot made in Italy by Serafino Zani.

Serafino Zani has been designing and producing kitchen and table utensils since 1963.
The profound knowledge of steel processing, combined with innovative production techniques, distinguish the company's work.
Serafino Zani's products are the fruit of the happy union between artisan knowledge and very high quality design.

The profound knowledge of iron and steel processing has in fact been the heritage of the inhabitants of the pre-Alpine valleys north of Brescia for centuries: it is in Lumezzane that Serafino Zani put to good use the experience gained working with his father Bernardo Lorenzo and founded Zani Serafino & C.
in 1963.
From the beginning the company has applied this centuries-old know-how, rules handed down from generation to generation, together with great attention to details, finishes and materials.

The Zani family continues to lead and administer the company today, developing projects and manufacturing products that combine artisan tradition with an original and innovative industrial vision.
Even today, all the processes that lead to the creation of steel pots, saucepans, pans and pans are made in the Lumezzane company, with the desire to affirm its vocation to produce beautiful, high-quality objects.

Serafino Zani still manufactures his pans in the Lumezzane company, in Brescia, using exclusively high quality stainless steel (18/10 stainless steel).
This material is the only one that guarantees maximum hygiene in contact with food, almost eternal durability and extreme ease of cleaning and maintenance.  Steel is used in all components and details, and is always applied in generous thicknesses which guarantee excellent heat distribution and non-deformability over time.

All steel fire pieces are equipped with a special heat-diffusing bottom patented by Tarcisio Zani - USA patent 4204607 - composed of a pure aluminum core 'imprisoned' inside a double stainless steel bottom.
The use of this base allows for optimal heat distribution on the body of the pan with minimal energy expenditure, and the possibility of using the utensils on gas, electric, glass-ceramic and induction hobs.

All handles are designed to slow down heat transmission, paying attention to the materials, shapes and surfaces in contact with the body of the pan.
An emblematic example of this are the handles of the Thema series, where the spring, mounted on the stainless steel rod handle, acts as a heat sink, or the handles of the Vickers series made from stainless steel tube and filled with Perlite (expanded lava rock).

The lid is housed in a molding that prevents it from jumping while cooking food, and from letting steam escape, wasting heat unnecessarily.

Serafino Zani's design philosophy has always been based on aesthetic-technological research and on the maximum satisfaction of the end user, through the creation of objects for everyday use that are of high quality, pleasant to use and that do not create inconvenience and maintenance difficulties.
The pans produced by Serafino Zani are thus objects of high design, with high thicknesses (synonymous with resistance and durability), with excellent and accurate finishes, which allow ease of use and cleaning.

Serafino Zani has developed its own design concept: over the years the brand has built a solid and lasting relationship with a group of designers who share the company philosophy, focused on the quality of use and aesthetics of the product.
Over the years there have been numerous design contributions that have allowed the company to go beyond fashions, proposing an original and diversified series of objects that make up our 'domestic landscape'.

Starting from Tapio Wirkkala, a master of Finnish design who has collaborated with Serafino Zani since the early 1980s, passing through Andries Van Onck and Iroko Takeda, F.AT.
Porsche, Isao Hosoe, Liliana Bonomi, Angeletti and Ruzza, Romiti and Mandelli, Marco Susani and Mario Trimarchi, Tamar Ben David, Sezgin Aksu and Silvia Suardi, until the meeting with the great master, Ettore Sottsass.
From the collaboration with the latter, 'The wise kitchen and the happy table' was born in 2004, an organic and complete program of utensils and accessories for the kitchen and the table, awarded with prestigious international awards.  Konstantin Grcic is the partner of the most recent collaboration, which gives life to 'Passami il sale', a work in progress which well represents the creativity and aristocratic essentiality of the design language.

Each Serafino Zani product is the result of careful development, combined with a consolidated design philosophy, as Roberto Zani himself, chairman of the company, explains: «During our preliminary meetings with the designers, our conversations focus on topics which seem to have nothing to do with the design of objects.
We must know each other.
If I get along with them and they get along with me, then we start working on the project we have in mind.
I am convinced that design projects incorporate the shared values of those who designed them and those who produced them. ANDso that the end user purchases something that is certainly useful, genuine and of solid workmanship, but at the same time relates to the meaning inherent in the object itself and acquires the values of its designer and creator".
