Poster of the anatomy lesson of Dr. Nicholas Tulip. It is owned by the Dutch state and is part of the permanent collection of the Mauritshuis in The Hague. The painting depicts a lesson in anatomy with a group of surgeons held by Dr Nicolaes Tulp. It was the first group portrait that the then 25-year-old Rembrandt painted. The anatomy lesson took place on January 31, 1632. The Amsterdam surgeon's guild, of which Tulp was a member, only allowed one public dissection per year. This is an exact image of the original painting in bright colors including brush strokes and canvas background. This painting was painted by Rembrandt van Rijn in the year 1632.
