This vegetal finish offers a natural rendering of the dyes carried out in the mass (the color does not rub off, does not discolor). The leather is then fuller-fed (this means it is greased) to provide more flexibility and make it waterproof. SUPORTLO® is therefore a leather specially tanned to resist the sun, wind, salt, water and sebum, while gaining a natural patina. Recently bought by Chanel, the Dégermann tannery has benefited since 2012 from the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label. --- In our Marseille workshop, we have chosen to work exclusively with so-called "full grain" leather for all of our designs. Unlike the crust of leather taken from the dermis, full grain leather is leather obtained from the epidermis, the strongest part of the skin, reflecting the life of the animal. Thus certain "defects" will be visible such as wrinkles, moles, stretch marks, scars, scratches, bites, etc. It's faults are normal. Most of the time, these marks are only cosmetic surface defects and do not affect the resistance of the leather. The leather itself being a waste produced by the animal husbandry activity, and for ecological reasons, we voluntarily work with skins having some of these marks. Likewise, in order to limit scraps during cutting, we keep certain natural defects when they are purely aesthetic. We work with quality full-grain leathers and use hand-sewing techniques in order to offer strong bags, truly lasting over time, the seams being repairable in the event of wear (unlike machine sewing. ).
