Its tanning gives it a noble and marked patina that your regular maintenance will not fail to magnify. Initially, this leather was designed for boat upholstery. It is actually tanned twice: a first mineral tanning is carried out for questions of safety and resistance (it is fireproof), then a second, vegetable tanning is carried out to obtain an original finish and patina. This vegetal finish offers a natural rendering of the dyes carried out in the mass (the color does not rub off, does not discolor). The leather is then fuller-fed (this means it is greased) to provide more flexibility and make it waterproof. SUPORTLO® is therefore a leather specially tanned to resist the sun, wind, salt, water and sebum, while gaining a natural patina. Recently bought by Chanel, the Dégermann tannery has benefited since 2012 from the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label. --- In our Marseille workshop, we have chosen to work exclusively with so-called "full grain" leather for all of our designs. Unlike the crust of leather taken from the dermis, full grain leather is leather obtained from the epidermis, the strongest part of the skin, reflecting the life of the animal. Thus certain "defects" will be visible such as wrinkles, moles, stretch marks, scars, scratches, bites, etc. It's faults are normal. Most of the time, these marks are only cosmetic surface defects and do not affect the resistance of the leather. The leather itself being a waste produced by the animal husbandry activity, and for ecological reasons, we voluntarily work with skins having some of these marks. Likewise, in order to limit scraps during cutting, we keep certain natural defects when they are purely aesthetic. Holding a traditional know-how that has made the reputation of high-end French leather goods, FAMETHIC has the craftsman label. This means that all stages of design and manufacture are carried out in the workshop based in the very city center of Marseille, without resorting to subcontracting. In order to place our parts in a sustainable life cycle, the founder has developed a drilling technique specific to FAMETHIC, allowing easy repair of seams - provided that the leather is regularly maintained. We work with quality full-grain leathers and use hand-sewing techniques in order to offer strong bags, truly lasting over time, the seams being repairable in the event of wear (unlike machine sewing. ). This does not give rise to any contractual guarantee from FAMETHIC, just know that maintained leather lasts three times longer and makes it easier to repair seams.
