The background is that the original creator of the Goodluck Troll - Thomas Dam was awarded a prestigious prize in 1961. His Goodluck Troll made of rubber, was awarded the prize as ""Toy of the Year"". The Goodluck trolls have since delighted many people around the world.
Thomas Dam sadly died of cancer in 1989, and his descendants have wanted to support cancer research and help other affected families. The Dam family has therefore entered into an agreement with the Danish Cancer Society, the design company bySommer and many artists and designers to interpret new designs based on the Goodluck Troll's characteristic hair and eyes. This has resulted in a donation of more than DKK 2.5 million - and the good cause continues with this special anniversary design.
