During our foray through Africa, the local captain showed us small beans marinated in rum.  A real Treasure that we didn't know until then.  The tonka bean seeds are soaked in rum and then dried.  But as we all know, a real pirate never wastes a good drink and we had a good drinking session with the rum in which the tonka beans were marinated.  The taste of vanilla and woodruff that remained in the rum really blew us away.  A strong brew, not just for us pirates.
