This single malt whisky, which is beautifully smooth, is mashed, distilled, aged and bottled by us here at Henstone Distillery. Profile (kindly provided by Richard Foster of Exploring English Whisky): On the nose: Ripe red apples and cream soda. Fruit and nut mix or dairy milk fruit and nut bar! Palate: Its deceptively smooth! Most of the action is mid tongue, lovely warmth and the nuttiness comes through over the fruit for me, quite intriguing actually. Long finish too which is great. Summary: Its young on the nose and you can’t deny that, but it’s got layers of flavour and the finish seriously belies its age. A really impressive dram!! The bottling ABV is 43.8%. Won a Silver Medal in the International Spirits Challenge 2021 An interesting point about our whisky is that we are one of a small number of distilleries south of the Scottish border making our own wash (the beer that is distilled to produce whisky) on site. We have a philosophy of using only the finest malted barley to produce a distinctive and characteristic new-make spirit.
