Notebook | Jardin d’Hiver

A notebook illustrated by Lida Ziruffo, who was inspired by the wonders of the City of Light, the jardin d'hiver of the Champs-Élysées. A garden which impressed with its monumental size and which was much appreciated despite its short duration, was in fact built in 1845 and demolished in 1851. This large greenhouse with lush vegetation became a popular place to stroll and enjoy the wonders of exotic nature. Victor Hugo who visited it in 1849 described it as follows: «When you enter, the eye closes in the dazzling flow of light; through this light one can distinguish all kinds of magnificent flowers and strange trees, [...] banana trees, palms, latanias, cedars, large leaves and enormous thorns, bizarre branches twisted and entangled as in a virgin forest ». All our notebooks are Made in Italy and bound with thread stitching. Dimensions: size A5 - 14,8 cm (p) x 21 cm (l) x 0,6 cm (h) 72 pages
