Part used: aerial parts Main organoleptic characteristics • Odor: phenolic, peppery, spicy • Taste: spicy, peppery, herbaceous • Color: colorless Method of obtaining Thyme hydrosol is collected lukewarm during the steam distillation of the aerial parts of Thymus vulgaris linaloliferum, directly at the outlet of the condensers. Organic food thyme hydrosol: main properties in hydrolatherapy • Thyme essential oil is known for its broad spectrum bactericidal action. Its hydrolate confirms this property without being as aggressive and dermocaustic as the essential oil. It can be observed that thyme hydrosol often acts very quickly in case of infection, gives momentum and energy. • Antibacterial, antifungal, anti-viral: respiratory tract infections, gastrointestinal and urogenital infections, oral and dental infections, mycosis, skin infections. • Stimulant, hypertensive, general tonic, immunostimulant: hypotension, exhaustion, asthenic states, nervous and physical fatigue, decreased libido. • Purifying at the digestive and intestinal level: gastroenteritis, diarrhea, intestinal candidiasis, bad breath, intestinal parasites, helicobacter pylori. • Do not use Thyme hydrosol in children under 3 years of age, during pregnancy. May burn on mucous membranes. Organic food thyme hydrosol: energetic and psycho-emotional properties • Thyme activates the first three chakras. • It restores strength, energy and courage to face the difficulties and hazards of life. • Thyme hydrosol is to be used in times of weakness, states of great fatigue, at times of discouragement. Organic food thyme hydrosol: examples of use • Throat infections: spray directly into the throat or gargle. • Winter ailments: pour the Thyme hydrosol in your water diffuser for the diffuser in your interior • Discouragement: combine thyme hydrosol with Rosemary hydrosol, drink 1 cup of hot water with a teaspoon of each hydrosol, 2 times a day for 15 days. • Colon enemas (intestinal candidiasis) • Problem skin, impure: drink 1 cup of hot water with teaspoon of thyme hydrosol, once or twice a day after meals. Apply clay masks once or twice a week. Use thyme hydrosol as a tonic lotion (see also under "cosmetic hydrosols" for more information on the use of hydrosols in cosmetics). • Add the Thyme hydrosol to your culinary preparations, at the end of preparation: Italian cuisine, Provencal cuisine, ratatouille, sauces, vegetable juice ... • Do not use this hydrosol during pregnancy. Organic food thyme hydrosol: conservation Hydrosols should be stored in the refrigerator. Be sure to close your bottle after use. Consume within 3 months of opening the bottle. Your hydrosol can still be consumable after this date if its aromatic smell is complete. You will recognize an expired hydrosol by its sour or acidic smell reminiscent of vinegar. The white filaments that may appear in the hydrosol are harmless and do not deteriorate their quality. You can raise them by filtering the hydrosol with a coffee filter.
