Our traditional palm baskets have been handcrafted by the Jobe family in Mariama Kunda, Gambia for several generations. Father and son produce in their own farm - their baskets are woven from the branches of the palm tree. The robust baskets are untreated and not painted. This basket in the shape of an amphora with a handle and a lid is ideal as a decorative object or for storing smaller items, such as toys, Or foods such as potatoes, onions, etc. If the basket ever gets damp or wet, it can easily be brought back into shape in this state and dries completely again.
