A study showed that twice as many women had their lactation boosted when they took brewer's yeast than when they did not. This is believed to be due to the compound β-glucan which helps increase levels of the hormone prolactin, which is also found in oats. Oats also contain saponins which boost prolactin. Oat avenanthramides increase the level of nitric oxide, which in turn increases blood flow to cells, helps increase the supply of nutrients and oxygen to organs, including the mammary glands. Finally, the cookies are made from flaxseed, which contains phytoestrogens that help increase prolactin production. Preparation : Preheat the oven to 180°C.
