The From the Cradle to the Moon collection is aimed at boys and girls from 0 to 3 years of age, for whom these poetic pictograms or poems have been specially designed; a term coined to designate a new modality of pictographic poetry based on the search for a reading rhythm that helps “educate the eye and sweeten the ear”, of the little reader, as Antonio Rubio explains. For his part, Óscar Villán -National Illustration Prize 1999- elaborates the aesthetic proposal of these five books. His work is completely handmade, with brushstrokes and easily noticeable color tones, to the point that the textures can almost be felt.
