These Aleppo soaps are composed of pure olive oil (95%), plant extracts and essential oils. The meeting between the tradition of Aleppo and the French know-how of perfume from Grasse. These “JENJIS” Aleppo soaps contain the aromatic power of balsamic essences from the steppe mixed with the deep wooded breadth of vibrant coniferous forests to the rhythms of pine and cedar. An exclusive shape created by Karawan authentic, inspired by oriental graphic arts. To obtain these 100g soaps, the 200g Pure Olive soap bars are grated into flakes. Then lightly heated, they are mixed with natural fragrances. The resulting dough will melt into the molds designed by Karawan authentic. These soaps, whose shapes and scents match each other, have the same properties as the 200g bars. Only the form and the scents change to associate Aleppo soap with a refined gesture of hospitality for the pleasure of the senses, and to adapt it to nomadic uses. An expanding range of Aleppo soaps, with our historic partner Since the founding of Karawan Authentic in 2004, we have been engaged with our soap partner in Aleppo. The recognized quality of Karawan soaps is the result of its know-how based on its ability to select noble olive and laurel oils, its detailed knowledge of saponification and its production tools. This lasting relationship has allowed us to maintain the quality of our soaps since the start of the conflict in 2011, continuing to support a local artisanal economy. The events had a significant impact on the manufacturing sites: most of old Aleppo, where the historic soap factories were located, was destroyed. However, new means of production have been organized to allow the people of Aleppo to continue to promote the economy of olive growing by continuing the production of soap. Our partner, part of whose family remained in Aleppo, was able to reconstitute another technical team and reorganized an artisanal factory 70 km north of Aleppo, in Turkey. The same climate specific to the region allows the soap to mature there in the best conditions. We can thus secure production and its delivery, allowing Aleppines to remain close to their families. Our solid and loyal partnership allows us to adapt and innovate, while remaining faithful to our values and our demand for quality. Karawan authentic continues its original commitment, that of supporting artisans who maintain their ancestral activity, symbol of the rich and plural history of Aleppo, by adapting it to new places of production which remain in the Aleppo region. Karawan soaps therefore mention Syria or Türkiye as origin. In both cases, they are made with our historic partner, a master soap maker from Aleppo, with the same ingredients and the same know-how.
