In 2012 Tom Agapiades invented the Kingii Wearable because he had a very good friend who died from drowning. “Even the most experienced swimmer can experience a water emergency, and my friend paid the price for being unprepared”.
His friend was not the only one who needed something to save him from the dangers of water activities. More than 372,000 people across the world drown every year.
That is why he invented Kingii, the smallest inflatable in the world.
In 2015 the concept of KINGII WEARABLE has been presented on the Crowdfunding platform INDIEGOGO.
Kingii in 2016 won the Edison Award as best start-up in the Athletics & Recreation field, and the 1° prize at the Startup Competition 2016 of the Cambridge University and University of Brema. In Italy Kingii Wearable obtained the Mensiosn of Honour in the Product Design field for the ADI Compasso d’Oro International Award 2017 - SPORT - PERFORMANCE AND INNOVATION.
Starting from 2021 the New WEARABLE is 100% MADE IN ITALY. The parts, made through an ultra-short supply chain by Companies of Italian excellence in the production of life jackets for the Navy and the Coast Guard, plastic components for the automotive sector and customized by screen printer Masters of the Italian fashion field, are assembled internally in our Company in Milan (Italy) and subjected to strict quality control for every single unit.
