My name is Pia, I am the person behind this project. I have trained as a Textile Designer and Pattern Maker.
I firmly believe in limited editions, local consumption and less is more.
My motto: Less consumption, more durable garments.
La Compiano is a heartfelt project, conceived and conceived since the year 2000.
I inherited the love for manual trades from other generations and I am happy to be able to keep them current.
My grandfather was a cabinetmaker, my father a carpenter, my great-grandmother a dressmaker, my grandmother a weaver. And as if she couldn't and didn't want to avoid it…the daughter gradually became a textile “maker”. I say “maker” because everything interests me, fabrics, dyes, prints, processes.
I defend fair and responsible production, with noble and sustainable materials.
My intention: that each garment accompany you for many many years. I create unique garments according to our time, but using traditional craft processes.
Simple and comfortable garments, where the value is placed on their shape, and the imprint on textile design.
The providers are local, always. Limited editions, always. The sewing workshops are located in or around Barcelona, and I know each one of its members. I have a personal relationship with them, I know about their life and their family. That is for me, local production.
I have my own point of sale in Barcelona, in the Gracia neighborhood, the store is the spoiled girl, it is a home-workshop. I spend a large part of the day there, between fabrics, patterns and scissors. I think it's interesting that people can see the work and the process behind each garment.
