Laguiole bee design in blue G10 and red thread

We have rejuvenated the Laguiole by giving it a more streamlined forged fly. The G10 is a laminate of layers of fiberglass with an epoxy resin. This material was introduced in the 1950s for aeronautics. Made from 0.8 cm thick blue-tinted G10 plates, hand-shaped to obtain its characteristic curve. To contrast with this electric blue we inserted a piece of red fiberglass between each plate. 2 stainless steel plates are engine-turned then riveted between the spring and the handle to ensure better closing flexibility and solidity in use. Blade in 12C27 steel (surgical stainless steel) with a thickness of 3 mm at the heel and a hardness of 56-57 Hrc. It is blunted (removal of beveled material) then sharpened and sharpened. The Spring and Bee are forged from the same piece of steel (Z20C13) then tempered and chiseled with a file. A blade stopper is fixed on the spring to prevent the blade from dulling when closing.
