Our knives are made in Thiers, in Auvergne.
The cutlery tradition of Thiers dates from the 15th century because the purity of the waters of the Massif Central allowed an exceptional quality in the tempering of the steel.
Manufacturing has been modernized but the Laguiole knife remains an artisanal production.
A hundred artisan cutlers, settled in this region, make this knife.
The mark, the drawing affixed to the blade of the knife is the signature of the cutler.
The seriousness and know-how of each gives each production its originality and quality.
Our knives are adjusted by hand according to ancestral methods.
The manufacturing process is traceable, it is even labeled “Origine France Garantie” by Bureau Véritas. All the parts used are of French origin, with the exception of certain precious materials for the handles which cannot be found locally.
The particularity of Laguiole Actiforge is to be able to fully customize its knives.
We engrave in relief with letters the back of our knives or the blade with images or text.
