Nontron with revolving ring 10.5 cm

Closed size: 10.5 cm Carbon steel blade Blade length: 8.5 cm Blade width: 1.5 cm Boxwood handle, decorated with pyro-engraved patterns 1 rotating brass ferrule Delivered with certificate of origin and guarantee It is one of the oldest French regional knives. It originally had a handle that ended in a ball. It was replaced in the 19th century by a fishtail, then by a shoe. The manufacture of this knife is still done in Nontron, by hand, with the same tools, the same gestures as centuries ago. The brass ferrule was adapted in the 19th century, to replace the nail closure system. The handle is made of turned boxwood. The decoration of an inverted V surrounded by 3 dots is controversial. Is it Moorish or Masonic inspiration? Made by the Nontronnaise cutlery
