Cable Knit Cardigan in Heather

Made from 100% recycled yarn in a warm wool blend, this wardrobe classic is cropped to a hip grazing length with full, balloon sleeves. The boxy shape is softened by the dropped shoulders. A wide ribbed welt and cuff frame the effect, which is completed with 4 buttons, made from coconut husk, which would otherwise be discarded as a waste bi-product. This collection was inspired by traditional British hand-knitting techniques which have been passed down for generations. The “cable” patterns form a decorative relief on the surface of the garment, but also increase its thickness and its ability to trap warm air in the tiny pockets between the fibres, so increasing the insulating properties of the knit. Manufactured in a Tuscan factory with sustainability at its core, our yarn is recycled from a selection of the best pre and post consumer regenerated materials, which are particularly soft, resistant to use and with excellent thermal qualities. The use of a large percentage of wool in the blend also makes the fabric warmer and more breathable than a similar knit made entirely from synthetics. Colours are achieved by blending the colours of the original fibres being recycled, so avoiding the need to reprocess the yarn. This saves significantly on the use of dyes, water and power.
