Mindful Doing | Bristol workshop - Full course

A SERIES OF CREATIVE & CALM MINDFULNESS WORKSHOPS BASED IN NORTH STREET, BRISTOL. Our Mindful Doing workshops are carefully designed to create something some might consider an anomaly: a community for introverts. Limited to 14 spaces per session, we maintain a relaxed, safe environment whilst guiding and supporting you to create. For us, the focus is largely on the process, rather than the outcome. It’s important for us both that there is no pressure to share (either introductions and ‘about me’, or your work!) and you feel comfortable enough to explore creatively.   “A WONDERFUL, SAFE SPACE WHICH I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND. UNIQUE, FUN AND EXACTLY WHAT I AM AFTER.” LAURA | MINDFUL DOING ATTENDEE   ”IT WAS A PLEASURE MEETING LOTTIE AND ELLIE AND THEIR WORKSHOPS WERE THE PERFECT WAY TO UNWIND IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT WHILST LEARNING NEW SKILLS. CAN’T WAIT TO ATTEND FUTURE WORKSHOPS!” _ELNAZ | MINDFUL DOING ATTENDEE_   ”KEEP UP RUNNING THESE LOVELY WORKSHOPS, SUCH A NICE ENVIRONMENT AND SO HAPPY WITH MY CREATIONS!” _ANA | MINDFUL DOING ATTENDEE_   If you feel like you’re in need of some relaxation, but struggle to do ‘nothing’, this ‘Mindful Doing’ course could be just the thing. A collaboration between Bristol-based sisters Ellie (teacher and writer at Grouty’s Guide) and Lottie (designer-maker at Lottie Suki), we’re running four weekly sessions of chilled out creativity, giving you the opportunity to slow down, re-energise, and nourish your creative side. Learn or revisit a variety of carefully selected creative activities, combining making, crafting, and creative writing. Suitable for complete beginners, we’ll be taking a pressure-free and meditative approach to creating. Session 1 | Friday 7th February 2020, 6.30-8.30pm | mindful writing Session 2 | Friday 14th February 2020, 6.30-8.30pm | decorative paper techniques Session 3 | Friday 21st February 2020, 6.30-8.30pm | meditative drawing Session 4 | Friday 28th February 2020, 6-9pm | making notebooks and sketchbooks   Location Creative Space [https://www.creativespacebristol.co.uk/], 56-58 North Street, Bristol BS3 1HJ   Although we will do our utmost to avoid any changes to the scheduled crafts, sometimes elements outside of our control may mean that we have to make amendments; if for any reason this happens, we will contact you with updates. FAQS: * I want to attend all four sessions but can't afford to make the payment in one go - can you help?_ Absolutely! Send us over an email with whatever details you can spare and we will set up a personalised payment scheme so that you don't miss out on the discounts._ * Will there be refreshments? _Yes - yummy ones as well! We provide snacks at every event, usually something sweet and something savoury. Tea will be practically on tap, along with other hot and cold drinks. For our Christmas events, our refreshments will recieve a festive makeover! Think mince pies and mulled wine._ * Can you cater to my dietary requirements? _Of course. All of the refreshments we provide are vegan or have a vegan option (milk) and if you have other specific requirements, send us an email and we will be happy to make necessary amendments._ * Is the property accessible? _There is parking directly outside the event space, which has a small fee during daytime hours. The main door opens out onto the pavement and there is now a ramp for the one indoor step. The bathroom is small and has no rails._ * I suffer from anxiety; will this event be suitable for me? _These events are __MADE__ for you. Creativity as therapy is the core concept that inspired __MINDFUL DOING__._ * How are you ensuring that your events are environmentally friendly? _As much as possible, we purchase organic or ethically sourced/made products. We do our best to avoid using plastics, however there are times that this is unavoidable or times when we do not want to replace plastics that we already own and use as that is wasteful (such as with paper making). As Lottie's business is mainly print based, she has lots of paper that she will bring along in various capacities to be reused in the beautiful products you make. _ If you have ANY other questions, please do get in touch. We really are a friendly pair and we know that new and different things can be a bit daunting; we're all about hosting events that are friendly, inspiring and fun within a calm and relaxed environment.
