Batik cushions

Batik cushions Batik cushion covers on cotton. The technique used here is commonly called "Adire" by the Yoruba ethnic group in West Africa. The cotton was dyed in a bath of natural mineral pigments, after applying the patterns cast on the fabric with wax. The second bath in hot water allows the applied wax to melt and thus reveals the patterns. After the knotting method which is very widespread in Africa, poured wax dyeing commonly called batik is also practiced.
