The adventure began in 2006 when Dr. Jonathan Carp, president of Miracle Noodle, visited his friend Ako in Japan.
They dined at a restaurant near Kyoto run by Buddhist monks and served several courses of Konjac cubes. When Buddhist monks told him about the benefits of this food, the idea was born.
Upon his return from Japan, in conjunction with the release of an article in the Wall Street Journal about the wonders of Konjac, he founded the Miracle Noodle. On that same day, in early March 2006, Jonathan recruited all of his family members to start the new business.
Today, Los Angeles-based Miracle Noodle is a worldwide hit with millions of packs sold. We've been mentioned on numerous news broadcasts, on the Dr. Oz TV show, and by celebrities such as chef Rocco Dispirito in his cookbooks, but what makes this trip particularly rewarding are the daily emails and letters we get from people who for whatever reason they can no longer eat traditional pasta, such as celiacs, diabetics and those who are following a weight loss program.
