henna

Lawsonia Inermis or Henna, is a plant whose main characteristic is its pigmentation power. Mixing it with hot water releases its coppery pigmentation. Henna-based coloration acts as a deposit, this means that the molecule that allows coloration is deposited in our hair and with the passage of applications, the tone it provides increases. Since it is a vegetable color, Henna does not damage the hair, since it does not open the cuticle to modify your natural color, but rather deposits it on it, as a consequence, Henna does not have the power to lighten the hair. The color that Henna provides is coppery, and the intensity of coloration that it will provide on the hair will depend on the initial tone, so that lighter hair will achieve powerful coppery shades and brown and brunette hair will achieve reflections in the sun. We can get different shades of Henna if we mix them with other plants that also provide different shades. Cassia: It will enliven the copper of Henna providing golden tones. Amla: It slightly extinguishes the copper pigment of the Henna, darkening the preparation a little. Walnut: Provides chocolate tones to people with brown hair. Its coloring properties aside, Henna also has multiple benefits for hair health. Provides strength, volume and shine to the hair. Fight dandruff. It provides a large amount of minerals to the hair that keep the strand healthy. It prevents the appearance of split ends, as well as protects the strand from breaking. Since at the time of coloring it does not open the cuticle, it does not damage the hair. It is sebum-regulating. Mode of use. Mix between 50 and 100 grams of Henna, depending on the length and thickness of your hair, with enough hot water to form a yogurt-like cream. Apply to the hair and let it rest for at least 1 hour, covering it with a cap, so that the preparation does not dry out and leaves the tone uniform. Rinse with plenty of water. Recommendations. So that the Henna color remains a natural tone and looks beautiful, it is advisable to use it on hair that is not seriously damaged, especially in the case of very bleached, straightened hair or many perms. When the strand is very damaged, it becomes very porous and straw-colored, this could lead to the pigment not adhering evenly. Apply to clean hair, untangled and having removed excess moisture. Add one or two tablespoons of oil to the preparation, in this way you will enrich the recipe, it will be more comfortable to apply and the result will be more natural. (If you have very thick and rebellious gray hair, they may not get as much pigmentation this way) Do not wash with shampoo after rinsing the product, during the next hours, the pigment continues to be deposited, resulting in a more natural tone, in case you like the color obtained just by applying the chlorination, you can wash so that it does not change . Do not apply products that contain alcohol among their ingredients on the day of the coloration, some ingredients can alter the final result. You can use natural products with clean ingredients. Since Henna is astringent, it is advisable, in the next wash after colouring, to apply oil to the hair before washing, preferably the night before. In this way the hair will recover the lost oiliness and we will have better results. Wear gloves and old clothes, since its pigmentation power is high and it stains hands and clothes.
