Here is the sustainable and reusable alternative to disposable straws, whether plastic, paper or food product! Made only of bamboo, they are completely biodegradable and compostable: their impact is minimal, especially since it is a resource that is quickly renewed. Each straw is unique because each stem is different in color and diameter and because our straws are handmade :) Our straws leave no taste in the mouth and do not alter the taste of drinks. In addition, since bamboo does not conduct heat, they are also suitable for the consumption of hot drinks. Where and how are bamboo straws made? The bamboo stalks are harvested around a small village in Vietnam where several families have become real specialists in bamboo straw! No deforestation or forced cultivation (planting) has been done and the bamboo grows naturally without fertilizers or pesticides in the surrounding forests. It is collected with respect for the resource and its renewal. Our straws are then made in a traditional way in this Vietnamese village in the immediate vicinity of the harvesting areas, by a small family business: - drying the bamboo in the sun, - manual hollowing and sanding, - high-pressure water cleaning, - drying and disinfection in ovens. Maintenance tips - Clean well before first use. - Wash in lukewarm water with a little soap and using the bottle brush (ours in coconut preferably!). - Let the straw air dry. - Store in a dry place. - Dishwasher safe; prefer the washing program without drying. If necessary, if you wish to disinfect your straw, we recommend boiling water with white vinegar and salt (1 teaspoon for 30cl of water). Dip your straw in it for 5 minutes then rinse it with lukewarm water. Finally, let it air dry.
