Ooh Jewellery is a small, independent woman owned UK jewellery brand owned by me, Amy Ayton. I’m the owner, designer and maker and every pair of earrings, necklace and bracelet has been lovingly handmade by me in my studio in Hampshire.
I’m unashamedly obsessed with accessorising and truly believe jewellery has the power to boost your confidence & make you feel amazing! My mission is to create gorgeous accessories to help other women feel fab too! And here’s why…
Twelve years ago, I was a thirty something new mum. I absolutely adored being a mum, I loved my baby boy more than anything else on this earth (& still do, obviously!). I’d given up work to be a stay-at-home mum as that just worked best for our little family of 3. I’m sure most mums out there can relate when I say it’s not an easy job! It’s full on, all consuming & easy to lose your sense of self along the way. Well, that was me. I hate the F word but I felt fat & frumpy.
When Angus was 7 months old we went on a Mediterranean cruise. Of an evening I had not only the opportunity to get dressed up but also the time to do so. My husband took Angus for a feed or a walk giving me the time to get ready to go out for dinner. I had a new dress, did my hair, my make up, put my earrings & necklace on and I FELT AMAZING! I felt like the old me was back! This small act of self care had made such a difference.
So, when I got home, I made a promise to myself to take 30 seconds out of each day to put on a pair of earrings, a necklace or a bracelet. It’s the quickest form of self care ever but it leaves you feeling put together & fab!
Fast forward to the covid years when everything went online & we were all communicating via zoom in our pyjamas. Once again I was reminded of the power of jewellery. This time in the form of statement earrings! Whenever I had a call, I wore a pair of statement earrings. They made me feel fab & gave me a boost of confidence to go about the call.
This is exactly why I created Ooh Jewellery– I want other women to feel just as amazing through this one tiny act of self care. Every piece you buy has been lovingly handcrafted by me at my studio here in Hampshire.
I create my gorgeous designs from contemporary materials such as polymer clay, artisan leatherette and stainless steel. I use stainless steel earring posts as they produce a wonderful, hardwearing finish and are super comfy for even the most sensitive ears. My jewellery is simple, colourful & designed to make you feel fab!
