The Shire is a British draft horse breed originating in northern England. He is also nicknamed "gentle giant" thanks to his docility and large size. The Shire is the largest horse in the world with an average height at the withers of 1.80 m. Some stallions even approach two meters! It generally weighs between 900 kg and 1,100 kg. Its coat is very often black, bay or gray, with large white markings on the limbs.
