Papo - Figurine - Young mammoth - DINOSAURS Collection - Ref.55025

With its trunk and immense tusks, the Mammoth strongly resembles its cousin the elephant. This prehistoric animal became extinct more than 10,000 years ago and is one of the best-known extinct animals, thanks in part to the very well-preserved fossils found buried in the ice. Originally from Africa, mammoths later spread more widely, to Eurasia, North America and the plains of Siberia. This mammal had thick fur to fight the cold and sometimes even a real woolen coat in the case of the woolly mammoth. Its large, curved tusks could reach up to 3 m in length and were used, among other things, to search the ground to find food. Global warming is believed to be the cause of their extinction. Did you know that mammoth paintings can be found on frescoes? Hunted by prehistoric man, mammoths appear in hunting scenes and decorate the walls of magnificent caves.
