'Years ago, my mother-in-law taught me to appreciate Indonesian cuisine. In particular, the numerous spices and herbs provide the authentic flavors of this cuisine.
I still remember the extensive rice tables with birthdays and I have also prepared many dishes together with her. Making sambal according to a family recipe was an important part of that.
‘My grandchildren call it sambal from ‘Opa Co’ hence the name ‘Sambal-Opa Co-The Original’.
The sambal can be used with everything as a flavor enhancer in a dish or as a basic bumbu of Indonesian dishes.
Or of course just on a sandwich with old cheese or peanut butter.
