One-of-a-kind Boujad rug | 100% wool | Size: 180 x 105 cm This joyful Boujad — affectionately nicknamed “my little Picasso” — was a true gem discovered on my latest sourcing trip to Morocco. Its bold, artistic mix of pink, burgundy, aqua, and orange instantly stood out, like a woven painting. I captured it under the open sky of the Marrakech souk, where its colors danced in the sun. Handwoven in the Boujad region from naturally dyed wool, this rug is full of personality and movement. The asymmetrical shapes and abstract patterning are characteristic of Boujad style — expressive, warm, and deeply rooted in Berber heritage. Each rug is unique, crafted by women who have passed these techniques down through generations. Slight irregularities in shape and tone reflect its handmade origin — no two are ever the same.
