One-of-a-kind Boujad rug | 100% wool | Size: approx. 168 x 118 cm Some pieces stop you in your tracks — and this was one of them. I spotted this unique Boujad on a sunlit afternoon at the criée in Marrakech. A bold, almost surreal tapestry of shapes and colors, knotted with instinct and imagination. The central figure? Open to interpretation — some see a flower, others a symbol of femininity, a gateway, or a flame. Framed by abstract architectural shapes and vibrant bursts of yellow, green, lilac, and rusty red, it becomes more than a rug: it’s a woven riddle, an artwork in wool. This JNOUN rug is handmade from 100% wool, naturally dyed and slowly knotted by Berber women in the Boujad region. With its rich palette and poetic visual language, it’s equally suited to the floor or the wall — a true tapis-tableau.
