
Organic red oolong is a tea with a high level of oxidation from Nepal. This product has undergone several changes by the manufacturer in its processing to make sure that the sweetness of its leaves could be enhanced. The first trick was to leave the crop to wither in the sun for longer than usual while the second was to let the leaves oxidize in a room lacking in oxygen. These two techniques are used quite frequently in the production of oolong tea but in this case it is the starting material grown on the Nepalese highlands that makes the difference. The infusion at the level of flavors will initially show a slight citrus acidity that will gradually disperse to reveal a little sweetness. In addition to this there is an exotic vegetal note amplified by the persistent sensation of warmth and the soft tannic character that this tea will leave in the aftertaste.
