This red wine is harvested on the slopes of the canyons of the Sil River as it passes through the municipality of Sober. It is made from the Mencía grape, and is part of the Denomination of Origin Ribeira Sacra (Amandi). The vine is located in a rugged, almost arid terrain, which makes the production low, but excellent. The inclination of the slopes allows increasing the hours of sun that the grape receives, giving it a better ripening and aromatic intensity. In this winery, wine has been made in the same way for five generations. Picking and transporting the grapes by hand from the bottom of steep slopes, using for this small boxes that keep the grapes and their properties intact, to later allow to ferment, macerate and rest in oak barrels for 12 months.
