In 1999, driven by a vision for T-shirts that walk the talk, brothers Drew and Gav Lawson created The Hemp Trading Company (aka, THTC). We make socially conscious clothing with the lowest possible environmental impact. THTF is now one of Europe's longest-running ethical streetwear labels.

Over more than two decades, the brand has been worn and supported in hundreds of actors, musicians and activists from Woody Harrelson to Ed Sheeran, Ed Skrein (Deadpool), Professor Benjamin Zephaniah, rappers Method Man, Redman, Stormzy, Rag ‘n’ Bone Man and The Foreign Beggars, DJ JFB (World DMC DJ Champion) and all three World Beatbox Champions.

THTC is one of the few recommended ‘Best Buy’ fashion brands by Ethicalconsumer.org, and is certified by The Vegan Society. We were a founding member of Commonobjective.co (formerly The Ethical Fashion Foundation).

We have worked with charities and NGOs including Refugee Community Kitchen, World Land Trust, Born Free Foundation, Inquest and Orangutan Foundation.

THTC has also produced organic t-shirt ranges for well over a hundred bands, charities and business, from QPR's community trust to UB40, C.A.L.M, Médecins Sans Frontières, Maharishi Clothing, Newton Faulkner, River Cottage and Momentum.

From sourcing materials to factory conditions, and from artistry to inks, THTC had been on a mission to make fashion more sustainable and keep our message on point. The majority of our products contain at least 55% organic hemp, combined with organic cotton. Hemp can be grown with a fraction of the water of conventional cotton and without the use of pesticides. The finished fabrics are hypoallergenic, warm yet breathable, highly durable and anti-fungal.
