Authentic Mexican milagro in zamak. Heart shape crowned with angels. Hand cast in Mexico. Characteristic of Mexican religious art, these ex-votos (also called milagros) are used either independently or as decorations for more elaborate pieces to make a wish or to thank for a wish granted. These ex-votos are made of zamac (a mixture of zinc, aluminum, magnesium and copper) melted and cast in a hand-made mold. Widespread in Mexico and Latin America, it is very difficult to find artisan manufacturers who jealously preserve their methods and are located in remote areas of Mexico.
