SRI LANKA VANILLA BEANS Sri Lanka, the island of Ceylon… a region mainly known for tea and cinnamon. Would you be surprised to learn that vanilla is also grown here? Our Sri Lankan vanilla, also called Ceylon vanilla, is a Planifolia variety: the same that is grown in Madagascar or Uganda. The particular terroir of Sri Lanka gives this vanilla an aromatic cocoa profile, notes of dried fruits, gingerbread, and a lot of sweetness. USE: SRI LANKA VANILLA IN THE KITCHEN Appreciated for its subtlety, it is ideal in cream, mousse or cakes where it brings a note of refined vanilla without dominating the other flavors. It can also be used to flavor drinks such as tea, cocktails and drinks made from milk and vegetable milk. On the salty side, a Ceylon vanilla pod perfectly complements the flavors of seafood, fish and winter vegetables. PACKAGING AND STORAGE Our Sri Lankan vanilla is offered in a glass tube of 10 pods, or in a 250 gram refill bag. Store your vanilla in a cool, dry place, away from light. The vanilla pods do not expire, but we recommend using them within 24 months to preserve the full intensity of their aromas.
