IDEAL STRUCTURE Cocolite-11 comes standard with fertilizers and minerals. In this way, the young plants can have access to important fertilizers from planting. The combination of coconut and perlite in Cocolite-11 ensures a good moisture balance and airiness of the substrate. Coconut has an ideal structure for this, so that water with added fertilizers is easily retained and is absorbed quickly by the roots of the plant. Due to the addition of perlite, the coconut substrate remains fairly airy, so that the roots receive a lot of oxygen. In this way, the plants get a healthy and strong root system and therefore develop optimally. One of the great advantages of growing on coco is that the coco fibers guarantee a pure substrate and that ensures excellent cultivation results. The chance of over-fertilization is therefore small. To ensure that the cultivation soil remains in good condition and to prevent nutrient salts from accumulating in the substrate over time, Wilma's Tuin recommends irrigating the plants with clean tap water on a regular basis. At some point, the power is gone. It is therefore advisable to supplement all types of substrate with one of our Wilma's Tuin plant nutrients. HIGH WATER RETENTION CAPACITY Cocolite-11 has been specially developed to retain water longer in the substrate. This property is referred to by professional gardeners as 'water retention'. The most important characteristics of Cocolite-11 are therefore optimal water absorption, good water distribution and a high water retention capacity. This gives the plants longer time to absorb moisture. Because Cocolite-11 retains the water very well, it is less often necessary to water the plants than when using a traditional culture medium. This has great advantages when growing in flower pots on a sunny terrace. For example, on warm, sunny days it often happens that plants in flower pots dry out too much. If the substrate retains too little moisture, the roots dry out and eventually even die. For the plants, this means a stagnation in development and unnecessary stress. With a carefully composed substrate such as Cocolite-11 these problems are easily prevented and that makes the life of the gardener a lot easier! RHP MARK For Cocolite-11, the fibers that are in the bark of coconuts are used. These fibers naturally contain a high concentration of salt, because most coconut trees grow near the sea. Such high concentrations of salt are not suitable for growing plants and therefore the fibers are first washed well. After the salt has been washed out, the coconut fibers are cleaned of germs and/or vermin by means of hot steam. This special treatment largely determines the quality of the coconut substrate. Cocolite-11 has the RHP quality mark (Regeling Handels Potgronden), which guarantees that the coconut fibers have been washed, steamed and buffered in the right way. When buffering the coconut fibers, magnesium and lime are added to the water in which the fibers are washed. This addition already provides the right minerals! RHP quality mark Cocolite-11 bears the RHP quality mark. This guarantees a high quality coconut substrate. The coconut fibers have been washed, steamed and buffered in the right way, so that an optimal substrate can be guaranteed. Warning Keep out of reach of children. Not for consumption.
