Definitely oriented towards the energy transition, the Youpaï team wishes to provide the best alternative to single-use plastic straws, which will be banned very soon. Indeed, in September 2018 the National Assembly voted to ban cutlery and other plastic containers from January 1, 2020.
Nearly 9 million straws are consumed every day in France, and more than 1 billion around the world every day, representing disastrous pollution of the oceans, land and animals. The 7th continent is no secret: 1.6 million square kilometers and nearly 80,000 tons of plastic float in the Pacific.
For all these reasons, we have developed 2 types of straws. Biodegradable disposable straws, which are made from natural resources; and reusable straws, which are made from strong, durable materials.
