ETHIOPIA - ORGANIC ALI - Grains or Ground

All our coffees are pure Arabica specialty coffees. Their traceability allows in particular the control of their quality and their taste excellence but also to preserve both the environment and the producer, by ensuring the latter a decent remuneration.    This specialty coffee, with notes of peach, brown sugar and hazelnuts, from organic farming, is round in the mouth with caramelized and slightly fruity notes.    Country: Ethiopia Region: Limmu Territory: Gera Altitude: 2000m Species: Arabica Variety: Heirloom Harvest: December to February Process: Washed Drying: Drying beds SCA rating: 84.5/100 ABOUT : Attached to this farm where he grew up, Khalid has managed it for several years with the same dedication as his father and grandfather before him. It’s a family affair and he now works with his brother; both are in a constant search to improve the quality of their coffee. This approach is guided by sustained attention to preserving the natural environment of these lands. Khalid is well aware that this natural heritage is an essential factor in the specificity of his productions.    GERA: Gera is located about forty kilometers southwest of Jimma, in the district of the same name. There is the farm of Mohamed Ali, whose family obtained the land in 1946, after the war against the Italians and at a time when the government of Emperor Haile Selassie sought to develop its agricultural lands. It was during this period that the Choché farm, where Mohamed Ali's farm is located, became a coffee forest.   Belco agronomists regularly visit Gera to discuss their harvesting, drying and storage techniques with farmers. Shambé, who works at Belco's Addis Ababa office, is in regular contact with them and visits Gera several times a year.
