In 1975, Bengt Ek left his homeland of Sweden, moved to the city of Lucerne in Switzerland, where he founded Ek International with his father, the brand now known as Bengt Ek Design. A factory was built and the first product was produced.
Bengt Ek grew up spending most of his time in a factory in a small village in Sweden called Smålandstenar. Bengt's professional design career began at the early age of 15, creating and designing products for local businesses. Over the years, the brand has become synonymous with quality, innovation and service.
