Burundi is a small country at the crossroads of East and Central Africa, located between Rwanda, DRC and Tanzania. The plantations are often located between 1800 and 2100 meters of altitude and the country produces in great majority of the red bourbon prepared by washing process. Burundian coffee production, initiated by the Belgians in the 1920s, has grown rapidly and today employs 55% of the working population.
