For decades, the pharmacist family Jagla has been using a medieval monastery recipe, traditional herbalism and old pharmacopeia knowledge to manufacture high-proof herbal bitters (Amaros), spice liqueurs and sugar-free gin. The Jaglas macerate – still by hand – carefully matured spirits from exquisite bitter herbs, fine spices and essential oils. With the mulled wine herb elixir, Dr. Jaglas managed to capture the happy mood of the coming months. The wintry Christmas spice liqueur is made from gingerbread spices and classic mulled wine herbs such as bitter orange peel, cloves, cardamom, star anise, walnut shells, orange peel, cinnamon bark, red grapes, aniseed, coriander, liquorice root and vanilla beans. The balanced mulled wine herbs and the sweetness of red grapes keep this elixir in the bittersweet tradition of Dr. Jaglas elixirs.
