Naming We cooperate with a coffee plantation from Central America. We get our fine coffee cherries from here, where the legendary bird of the gods, also known as the Quetzal, has always lived and was worshiped as a deity by all the indigenous peoples who came from there throughout history. In nature you often only see the magnificent and long tail of the mysterious quetzal. That's why the natives called it the "bird of the gods". They described the tail as a bridge between heaven and earth. cuīca comes from an Aztec language (Nahuatl) and means “singing”. The special and unique song of the bird of the gods gives our Cascara fine liqueur its name. Flavor profile If you try our cuīca, you probably wouldn't think of a one-component liqueur. The fine, delicate and yet complex aroma is more reminiscent of a cuvée of different ingredients. When tasting, you notice lovely notes of honey, honeydew melon, dried fruit with subtle woody notes and a subtle fruitiness of hibiscus and cranberries. Drinking recommendation & recipes Our cuīca is not only suitable for drinking neat at room temperature or on ice. It also cuts a pretty good figure as a cuīca Tonic (with the Fentimans Connoisseurs), as a cuīca Spritz with a semi-dry sparkling wine and a lemon zest, as a cuīcarihna (Caipirinha Variation) or as a cuīcito (Mojito Variation).
