Ellamar designs special pieces for fashion-conscious people. The designs are inspired, and this is what makes Ellamar so special, by cultures from all over the world. The development up to the finished product takes place in intensive cooperation with the various cooperation companies at home and abroad (from Bosnia to Mexico). After many mutually coordinated work steps, the collections are finally sold exclusively in Austria - in the Caleostore in Gmunden or via the online shop (www.ellamar.eu).
“Foreign cultures have always fascinated me. After traveling to countries like Morocco, Libya or Mexico, my head was always full of impressions that needed to be implemented in some form. Every country provides impressions of typical colors, patterns, materials, smells, but also of the people who move in it - and that moves me to think new things!" explains Daniela Holleis-Weingärtner, who founded the label in 2017 and has been leading with enthusiasm ever since.
"Inspired by cultures" has been the motto for every product at Ellamar right from the start. At the beginning, the entrepreneur implemented the impressions from other cultures in various bag designs, meanwhile the product range has been expanded to include various leather accessories and special pieces from the home décor.
Bags for all kinds of occasions are still the heart of Ellamar. The bag designs inspired by the different cultures are adapted to the European lifestyle. The range includes handbags, business bags, shoulder bags, pouch bags or shoppers, to name just a few. If you browse the shop, you will discover bags with exotic names such as Roma Weekender, Siena Clutch or a Muscat Shopper. It is impossible that this selection does not include the right piece!
Design with responsibility
Ellamar stands for sustainability. A buzzword, yes, but it literally applies here. The cooperation with the often very small companies (sometimes there are only individuals) is carried out responsibly: the raw materials, for example the leather, are produced on site and processed after short transport distances. In individual, time-consuming manual work, the people lovingly manufacture products that, at best, give pleasure to customers in Austria for generations.
They are all objects that tell stories. Unique products or one-offs, not mass-produced goods. Products by people, products for people.
A lot of time passes before the piece is on the counter - time in which the products are perfected step by step. Due to the distances, Ellamar mostly communicates with partners via digital channels.
