THE WHY: 8 YEARS OF TRAVEL
The history of the metropolitan began eight years ago.
We are Nour & Hassen, a couple of young executives who live in a dynamic corporate environment and like to travel the world.
We traveled together to 20 countries and discovered breathtaking landscapes and beautiful views. During all our travels, we were obsessed with 4 core values:
1. Authenticity: We wanted to have authentic experiences with the local residents of every country, village, island we visited. We have always favored homestay visits to hotel chains and wanted to live with the local community.
2. Uniqueness: We wanted to have a unique memory of each place we went. We did not hesitate to buy local works of art, souvenirs in order to keep the memory of the moment we lived.
3. Quality in small quantities: We prefer the quality of experiences to their numbers. We have always chosen to do fewer activities during our trips to complete each one.
4. Durability: Our products are made from genuine leather from beef production.
We are also fervent defenders of the ecological transition and we compensate our international shipments.
We also empower women designers and manufacturers around the world by integrating them into our platform.
During these trips, we have believed that our genuine, quality and unique leather goods that we use are our best companions on our travels.
These 4 values are at the heart of what we want to share with our community. As such, we have created Metropolitans, a brand of unique and qualitative handcrafted leather goods for daily use and travel.
THE HOW: LAUNCH OF OUR BRAND
We spent six months navigating the leather supplier market. Indeed, our obsession was to find leather manufacturers who offered the best quality leather at an affordable price.
We are supporters of authenticity and craftsmanship
Born in Tunisia, we live day to day in the city of Tunis where luxury leather goods were produced by artists in the old village of Al-Medina.
Living in Paris for 10 years, we have chosen Paris as the capital of fashion and crafts. Some of our products are inspired by Parisian and French cultural heritage.
