COCONUT BOWL / DISH This beautiful bowl is made by nature. It is the hard core of the coconut that remains after the green husk has been removed. This core/nut serves as protection for the pulp and coconut water. Coconut milk/oil is made from this for consumption. Most coconuts end up at the stake as waste. An eternal shame when you consider what a great little bowl nature has made! Each bowl is naturally unique and slightly different. This coconut bowl has been polished by hand on the outside so that it becomes a nice handy bowl. That's how you actually saved him from the stake. The bowl is food-safe, so suitable for nuts/olives/sweets, etc. It looks great on the table or at a picnic with ice cream/salad. The bowl is easy to clean with a little warm water and soap, but the coconut bowl can't stand the dishwasher. † RAW MATERIAL & ZERO WASTE The raw material for this plastic-free bowl is the hard core or actually the seed of the coconut. It grows on the coconut palm, which is common in Asia and East Africa. Coconut palms are strong plants/trees that do not need pesticides. This bowl remains after the pulp and coconut water have been removed and usually ends up as waste at the stake. Coconut bowls absorb at least half their weight in C02. In this way they absorb more CO2 than it costs to get them this way. So more than CO2 neutral! They are transported to Europe by ship because this is the most environmentally friendly way to date. Much more environmentally friendly than, for example, by plane or train.
