Poster Historic Map of Namur - City Map 1692

After 1690, Namur undergoes two sieges. In 1692, Louis XIV of France takes Namur after a period of five weeks' resistance. Vauban starts building barracks, a military hospital and an armory on the Sambre. In the year 1695, however, the city is again besieged, this time by the troops of William III, stadtholder of Holland and king of England. Namur will now house a Dutch garrison and the Dutch Menno van Coehoorn will be responsible for the work on the ramparts. We also sell matching frames in different colors. Different format or paper?
