Fu Wan specializes in bean-to-bar and tree-to-bar chocolates made from high-quality cacao pods grown locally in South of Taiwan.
 
The chocolates are made to the highest standards of tree-to-bar production in Ping Tung County, where cacao trees have replaced betel nut palms. 

Warren Hsu, founder of Fu Wan, is a tree-to-bar chocolate maker and an IICCT (International Institute of Chocolate and Cacao Testing) certified Level III Chocolate Taster.
 
Since 2017, Fu Wan has won numerous awards, including those at the International Chocolate Awards (ICA) and the Academy of Chocolate (AOC) competitions-establishing milestones in the history of the cacao industry in Taiwan.
 
While other brands (both non-bean-to-bar and bean-to-bar) pay cocoa farmers hundreds of USD per ton or much less for cocoa beans, Fu Wan pays cocoa farmers between 150 and 250 New Taiwan Dollar (NTD) per kilogram, which is equal to approx. 

4,700 - 7,800 EUR per ton. 

It's not just about "fairness", but also about nature and environmental protection. 

When cocoa farmers are underpaid, an unnatural agricultural expansion of cocoa cultivation ensues that destroys our ecosystem.
 
In addition, Fu Wan only buys fresh cocoa beans, which means all manufacturing processes starting with fermentation, are carried out step by step. 

Each step is carried out with discipline, from strictly controlled hygiene, accurate temperature and humidity (monitored by employees and programmed machines) to high-quality machines for roasting, sorting and conching.
 
After fermentation, the cocoa beans are drying. 

Unlike most conventional manufacturers, the cocoa beans are not placed on the floor for hygienic reasons, but on lifted plates. 

Depending on the weather, this process is operated both indoors and outdoors. 

Fu Wan is the only chocolate brand in the world, whose cocoa beans are also dried in-house, which guarantees the highest quality and hygiene standards. 

Furthermore, the cocoa beans of Fu Wan are in "rest" for at least six months to a year after drying. 

This creates rounded and flavorful flavors!
 
The unique procedures: Fermenting - Infusing - Drying - Aging - Roasting - Grinding - Scenting "FIDARGS" was developed by Fu Wan.
