During the 1990s, French immunologists tried to develop a protected SOD that could retain its activity. So they created SOD combined with a wheat protein.
In this context, a melon variety with higher SOD activity became the source of the enzyme. In 1996, the first effective oral, plant-based form of SOD was patented.
In 2001, François Vix founded the ISOCELL laboratories to develop this unique active ingredient: GliSODin, and to demonstrate its efficacy scientifically and clinically. In 2017, the GliSODin range of skin beauty products was launched in France.
